Val di Sugas Spuntali is one of the oldest Brunellos crafted under the concept of single-vineyard wines. Sourced from the Spuntali vineyard, it embodies the unique characteristics of its sandy soils and Mediterranean climate. The sites ideal conditions allow Sangiovese to ripen exceptionally well, reaching remarkable levels of generosity. The wine reflects the purity of the land, showcasing the vineyard’s ability to produce wines of depth, balance, and notable expression. With a deep connection to the terroir, Spuntali highlights the full potential of Montalcinos renowned growing environment.
On the nose it shows combination of candied orange note with spices and Mediterranean herbs (thyme mint rosemary). The palate shows supple fruit wrapped tannins with creamy long savory texture.
Established in 1969, Val di Suga is a pioneer in the production of terroir-driven Brunello di Montalcino from single vineyard (CRUs) and the only producer making three different wines from three different estates: Vigna del Lago in the North-East, Poggio al Granchio in the South-East and Vigna Spuntali in the South-West. Val di Suga has always believed in the highest expression of each single vineyard and its terroir. The first Brunello di Montalcino Cru Vigna del Lago was produced in 1982, coinciding with the beginning of the denominations success in the early 1980s. A few years later, in 1994, the Angelini company came along and gave Val di Suga new drive, which was already winning awards and recognized on an international level for its high-quality wines.

Named after a small pond in the center of the property, Poggio al Granchio is known for its colonies of freshwater crabs during certain seasons.Vigna SpuntaliDebuting with the legendary 1988 vintage, Vigna Spuntali is our most prestigious and balanced Cru.
