Scott practices the less is more approach to winemaking, allowing the grapes and terroir of Lake County to shine through. The terroir of their 20-acre Old Stake 1901 property in the Kelsey Bench AVA is ideal for Cabernet Sauvignons with its 1400 ft. elevation, rust-colored, volcanic deposits, and cool afternoon winds, all of which play a part in producing beautifully-balanced, full-bodied, yet elegantly-refined red wines.
