In 1877, cousins Ilario and Leopoldo Ruffino opened a small winery in Pontassieve, near Florence, where Tuscany’s centuries-old winemaking tradition thrived. With mineral-rich soils, Mediterranean breezes, and sun-soaked hills, the region provided the perfect environment for exceptional grapes. Ruffino’s commitment to producing clean, balanced wines earned them recognition and success.

After WWII, Ruffino expanded by acquiring vineyards in Tuscany’s top regions: Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino, and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. Known for its consistency and quality, Ruffino continues to be a leader in Chianti and a proud ambassador of Tuscan wines, carrying on Italy’s rich winemaking heritage.
