Blandy’s Vintage Sercials are single harvest Madeiras. They are aged in the traditional “Canteiro” system where the casks are gradually transferred from the warmer rooms of the lodge to the cooler rooms. The wine is regularly racked and when it has reached its peak, the winemaker, Francisco Albuquerque, presents it to the tasting panel for final approval.

The Blandys family is unique for being the only family of all the original founders of the Madeira wine trade to still own and manage their original wine company. The family has played a leading role in the development of Madeira wine since the early nineteenth century. Blandys Madeira remains totally dedicated to the traditions, care, and craftsmanship of Madeira Wine for over 200 years.
