Lagnusa is the name of the cur from which the grapes hail. The name has its origins in the vineyard which has always been called “lagnusa” by the farmers of Montoni. In Sicilian, “lagnusa” means that wich is lazy and produces small quantities. Today, we know that a vineyard that produces less, generally reults in a higher quality wine with tremendous focus.

Ruby red in color. Its structure does not want to conquer with strength, but rather with elegance. A complex perfume with notes of cherriesin-spirit, red plum, blackberry and warm spices that are in harmony with one another. The boldest aromas are of cinnamon and clove. Notes of menthol amplify the freshness of the taste. It is soft, velvety, sapid and laced with the right amount of delicate tannin on the palate.

Feudo Montoni has been producing top-quality wines on its historic grounds since 1469 and is currently overseen by Fabio Sireci, the third generation of a family dedicated to producing the most refined expressions of this long-cultivated terroir. Rosario Sireci purchased the Feudo Montoni estate in the late 1800s upon discovering a wealth of ancient vines, and passed down the property his son. Located in the heart of Sicily and planted in sand and clay, this certified organic winery produces many of Italys most celebrated 100% indigenous varietals Perricone, Nerello Mascalese, Catarratto, Grillo and Inzolia in addition to the purest expression of Nero dAvola.

Feudo Montoni, situated in the mountainous heart of Sicily, has been producing highly-acclaimed wines on its historic grounds since 1469. Helmed by Fabio Sireci, third-generation winemaker, the estate was purchased at the end of the 1800s by Fabio’s grandfather, Rosario, who recognized the unique fertility of the historical vineyards.Today, the certified organic winery produces many of Italys most celebrated indigenous varietalsPerricone, Nerello Mascalese, Catarratto, Grillo, and Inzolia in addition to ‘Vrucara,’ one of the purest expressions of Nero dAvola. Sireci is particularly proud of the organic farming methods, artisanal cellar practices, and renewable energy sources hes implemented and maintained, which he says preserve the grapes natural flavors and nuances. Fabio and his family are honored to know their plants one by one, know which vines produce the best wine, and have selected them as ‘mother plants’ from which the ‘genetic code’ is drawn and transferred into the new vineyards. All operations in the vineyard are undertaken completely by hand, and the results speak for themselves: thanks to Fabio and his family’s dedication and the vineyards high altitude, fluctuating temperatures, plentiful rainfall and prperty’s olive groves and wheat plots, Feudo Montoni wines have staked their claim among the finest in the region.
