The Aejo Cristalino expression is aged for a minimum of one year in French oak white wine barrels before being dripped through a charcoal column to refine and remove impurities and it is finished with the wine-making technique of tumbling the liquid to take on oxygen to create a rich mouthfeel. Crystal-clear and perfectly smooth, Tequila Komos is a stunning expression of what a Cristalino tequila can be. The iconic bottle is handmade vitrified porcelain and is meant to be upcycled to live on long after you have finished enjoying what lies within.

Komos starts with perfectly ripe 100%Blue Weber agave from both the highlands and lowlands of Jalisco, Mexico. The pias are roasted in traditional stone ovens, naturally fermented, and twice distilled in copper pot stills in the city of Tequila, Mexico. This creates a beautiful Blanco tequila to which we add our Mediterranean winemaking expertise. Our three expressions of Tequila are each rested in unique and elegant wine barrels before bottling, giving them rich, yet delicate flavors and opulent aromas. Tequila Komos is an ultra-luxury tequila created by people with a great deal of history in the world of agave. Tequila Komos founder and CEO Richard Betts already saw success creating the brands Astral Tequila and Sombra Mezcal, and the NOM and distillery partner is Orendain, one of the four founding families of Tequila. These partners are committed to sustainable practices in tequila-making, including repurposing waste from production into bricks given to the people of tequila to build infrastructure, working with the same farming families for generations to grow their agaves, and fabricating the one-of-a-kind handmade porcelain bottle in Mexico to reduce carbon footprint and to employ more local population. Orendain is a woman-run distillery.
