Sammys Beach Bar Kola Spiced Rum wasintroduced May2017, and at launch it was bottled as Sammys Beach Bar Maui Kola Spiced Rum. It was originallyproduced at the Haliimaile Distilling Company in Maui Hawaii.The rum base was made from Maui Gold sugar cane grown near the distillery. The rum base was distilled once and filtered once. Sammys Beach Bar Kola Spiced rum isnow 5 times distilledfrom the finest sugar cane in the Caribbeanat Destileria Serralles in Makawao Puerto Rico. This is the distillery that also makes Don Q rum. After distillation the rum is shipped to Levecke Corporation in Mira Loma California where flavors are blended with the rum and it is bottled at 70 proof. The rum pours to an iced tea golden amber color. The aroma is cola, vanilla, nutmeg, and brown sugar, with a root beer and coffeebacking. The sweet cola entry is joined by sarsaparilla and vanilla. It fades with caramel, peppermint, and nutmeg. The finish is semi-dry and warm, with spicy nutmeg,root beer,and bittersweet cola and coffee taste.
