Commercial Description:

In 2004 Christian Krogstad founded House Spirits, making Vodka, Gin, Rum, and Whiskey. But not just any whiskey, they made American Single Malt. In 2011, Thomas Mooney joined the team as founder & CEO and a few years later the company changed its name from House Spirits to Westward Whiskey, as they decided that they were going to focus on the production of American Single Malt Whiskey.

In recent years American Single Malt, or ASM for short, has taken the spotlight. Westward is one of the largest producers in operation. With a core line that includes a 45% ABV expression, a Cask Strength, a Stout barrel finish, a Pinot noir cask finish, and a rum cask finish they have one of the most diverse ranges.

Appearance:In the glass, this whiskey presents as gold leaning towards honey and amber.

Nose:On the nose, this whiskey has very forward notes of mocha, caramel, banana pudding, and creme brulee.

Palate:This American Single Malt has forward notes of honey and cocoa puffed rice cereal followed by mocha and fuji apple with a finish of Irish soda bread.

What this lacks in depth, it makes up for in flavour. Extremely delicious, and the proof really shines here.
